Disko and Sean Flanagan have formed a winning team in the past and now the jockey thinks the 6 year old is set to compete in the Irish Gold Cup. The pair were successful at Grade 1 level at Leopardstown last February and are looking to repeat the feat again at the Foxrock track in the Gold Cup. Despite being prominent in the market for both the King George at Kempton and The Christmas Chase at Leopardstown, Noel Meade’s grey turned up in neither race and Flanagan feels it was the right decision as it meant that he and Road To Respect were kept apart. “It worked out well anyway and it (The Irish Gold Cup) is looking like where Disko will go”

Disko Will Head To Leopardstown In Good Form
Flanagan thinks that Disko will go to Leopardstown with a leading chance of taking another Grade 1 based on previous form. “You’d have to think he has a massive chance based on last season’s form. Looking at their form now, Disko looked the better horse of the two at the back end of last season and now Road To Respect has come out and won a Grade 1 and Disko will head to Leopardstown in good form and with everything going well it could work out great”.
Disko made his seasonal reappearance at Down Royal in November over 2m 5f and Flanagan feels it was the perfect way to begin his season. “He’s a horse that takes a bit more graft and that’s why we ran him over 2m 5f at Down Royal rather than going to 3m with him for his first run. He came home out of the race well and has been ticking over the last few weeks. He’s fit and he’s ready to rock and roll”.
