Lots To Look Forward To With Hit The Bid
The Flying Childers Stakes looks particularly competitive but our lad is going there with every chance. Whatever he does today we know that next year is going to be his time. As I’ve said in the past he is still a big weak horse and it’s very exciting to think what he can do next year when he has fully matured. From day one he has showed us tremendous potential. Picking up a Group 3 already has been a bonus with him.
His owners, The Straight To Victory Syndicate, are having a tremendous year. I bought 3 yearlings relatively cheaply for them for this season. The first of those to run was Mister Trader who won the season opener at the Curragh. He then went on to finish 2nd to this year’s top 2yo Caravaggio in the Marble Hill Stakes (Listed). The second to run was Hit The Bid who won the Group 3 Curragh Stakes.
The third is a lovely horse who I’m looking forward to seeing make his debut before the end of the season. I’m thrilled for the syndicate. In addition to being great supporters of the yard they are a fantastic group of lads who love the sport and really appreciate the journey we’re on with the horses. I’m looking forward to building on that success next season with the yearlings I’ll be purchasing for them at the upcoming sales.
Our current team of horses are going forward nicely. I’m very happy how they are progressing and I’m looking forward to a good couple of months with them before the end of the season.
Harzand, one of our horses to follow, is running in the Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday. I think he’s a horse of real class and I see no reason to desert him at this stage despite the obviously high quality opposition. It’s a race to savour.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming our Curragh Thoroughbred Trail guests to the yard on Sunday morning. Hopefully we’ll get some nice weather for that.
We’ll have further updates on our website www.darrenbunyanracing.com
Have a great weekend.
Best of Luck!
