Tote Weekly Value Report – 7th March

Dundalk Friday 4th March

A disjointed week with meetings at Downpatrick and Clonmel abandoned due to waterlogging began at Dundalk on Friday evening. Tote Win customers got off to a good start with early winners Kasbah (SP 3/1, Tote Win €4.20) and Poetic Choice (SP 8/1, Tote Win €12.00). There was also some outstanding Tote Value on show in the third race as the Tote Trifecta of Drillmaster (7/1), Prove The Point (16/1) and Power Grid (11/1) payed €2,121 almost double the bookmakers Tricast. Gordon Elliott’s Eshtiaal (SP 8/1, Tote Win €11.50) finished off what was a very good evening for Tote customers.

Gowran Saturday 5th March

It was another day of outstanding Tote Exacta pay-outs at Gowran on Saturday. Get Out Of Jail (6/4) led his rivals a merry dance in the opening maiden hurdle leading home a Trifeta with Mustadaam (10/1) and Dixie Highway (10/1) for a return of €112.60. The trend for the day continued when Toon River (9/1) led home Noble Emperor (4/1) and Toushan (4/1) for a Tote Trifecta payout of €315.40 far superior to the bookmakers Tricast of €169.96. On a tricky day to find winners, both the Tote Pick 6 and the Tote Jackpot rolled-over leaving some eye-catching figures heading into Naas on Sunday.

Naas Sunday 6th March

With a pool of €161,012 for the Tote Pick 6 there were many people dreaming of a huge win at Naas on Sunday. However “the punters graveyard” lived up to its billing in the opening race as Sutton Place, the 12/1 outsider of the field of five, caused an early shock. There was more heartache for Pick 6 players in the second race as Sub Lieutenant, third string for owners Gigginstown House Stud, was revitalised in first time blinkers for Sandra Hughes and held off the challenge of favourite Tell Us More. Total Recall provided some brief respite for punters in the third before Caolaneoin (20/1) landed a hammer blow to the remaining Pick 6 units in the fourth race. It was little consolation to most when the relatively well fancied A Genie In A Bottle (3/1) and Venitian De Mai (10/3) took the final two races. There is consolation for many as the €161,012 pool will roll to either Limerick or Navan next Sunday for what should be a €250,000+ Tote Pick 6. There was ample reward for one shrewd customer at Naas on Sunday who successfully negotiated the Tote Jackpot for a whopping return of €14,399.40.
